RoadSchool-ND Where the RoadSchool meets the road.

10/2/2018
Well... we're not exactly off to the smoothest start. In the last 2 days we've had to troubleshoot running out of propane overnight for our furnace, a mysterious loss of power to half the outlets in our trailer, and the now refilled propane tanks leaking in the line somewhere. And there's a pending freeze coming to the Dakotas that we're trying to stay out of. We are SUPER thankful for Papa spending 1 1/2 hours on the phone throughout these debacles to walk us through it, the North Dakota State Park Assistant Manager, and Head of Maintenance for their help with the electric issues, and an internet connection that puts the weather, as well as trailer forums, at my fingertips! ;) Needless to say, my brain is worn out, my emotions are thin, the kids are tiptoeing around me, I miss my best friend, and there was no way two blog posts were gonna happen tonight.

How about these pictures though??? Kate took them at Devils Lake... they make me smile. :)

We DID get some bookwork in yesterday... math, reading, and starting through our book on North Dakota. We're pretty excited about our curriculum books, and I'll show you why in another post.

The school table view on 10/1/2018

We HIGHLY recommend Grahams Island State Park  , especially if you have a trailer.
Huge pull-thru sites, beautifully groomed landscaping, mature trees, clean bathrooms/showers, wide roads, dog run, fish cleaning station, bait shop, spacious dump station, and even some grocery and camping necessities in the park office.

There were 4 occupied campsites. Total. One of the perks of being here in the off season!

The "close together" pull-thru sites.

Fish cleaning, water, and dump stations. This will mean something to only a few of you. ;)

There we are, in campsite 16... creepy Google locator.

Today's location change got off to a late start (see top), but holy moly, ND has some gorgeous rolling hills! Everytime we crested one, Lily would exclaim over the beauty and distance we could see!

Even Joe appreciated the view. He travels REALLY well,  and we're thankful for a guard dog.

Tomorrow we'll explore our new campground here at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, in Bismarck, ND!
