Day 2 Work hard, Play hard

Our first full day of the Bold North Tour 2018 started off with a donkey braying on the next farm over, and delicious Pannefakku (a Finnish word for oven pancake), watermelon, bacon and homemade crabapple juice. Did you know that donkeys are a great deterrent against critters that would bother the herd of cows? Apparently they’re pretty vigilant, and sound a pretty convincing alarm at intruders. Seriously... look up a donkey braying, including the rev up... it’s pretty comical! ;) Anyway, it was a beautiful blue sky day, and we filled it with picking rocks in the field, random things needing to be done to the trailer, horseback riding, 4-wheelers, and visiting with our good friends, Terry and Cheryl, and their neighbor girl, Sequoia. Pizza over the fire in pie irons, and chatting under a shady tree rounded out the day, followed by showers and an “early” bedtime (still some light in the sky). We sure do appreciate their friendship and hospitality!
