Today when I woke up, Taylor was awake and Kate was still sleeping. Mom and Dad were at the trailer because we had a sleepover at our aunt and uncle's house.
I went upstairs to get breakfast and then everybody came upstairs to eat breakfast. After that we went to Walmart and then we went to a donut shop. Then we came back to our aunt and uncle's house. Mom and Dad came with our swimsuits, goggles, flip-flops and towels so that we could go swimming at McCarthy Beach again.
We went swimming for about a few hours, I think. After swimming, we went back to our aunt and uncle's house.
Mom and Dad went back to the trailer to pick up a few things and drop all the wet stuff off, and then they came back. We had dinner and talked for a while. Then while the adults were talking, Haley, Alex, Kate and I went on a bike ride.
Haley met a new friend on our bike ride, and then after Kate and Alex went back to the house, Haley and I and her friend went to the park. After the park we came back and had s'mores. We had to let the fire cool down for a little bit so we saw the race cars at the dirt track oval just a few minutes away from their house.
After the race cars we had one more s'more, and then talked for a little bit while Haley and Alex went to bed, and then we played an Oregon Trail card game.
Sunday night is our last night in Hibbing. Monday we have to go somewhere new. We're staying in the state of Minnesota. Where do you think we should go? Post your favorite place to camp in Minnesota in the comments below.

The headwaters of the Mississippi!
ReplyDeleteWe've only waded in the water and climbed the firetower, but have heard a lot of good things about camping there!
DeleteThank you Lori. Fun place for sure.

I believe that's on the August itinerary.
DeleteOoo... we know that place! ;)
ReplyDeleteTettegouche State Park in Silver Bay, MN. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTettegouche is one of our favorites. Nelina and I will be seeing that in July without the kids.
DeleteI second the headwaters of Mississippi! With a mission:
ReplyDeleteBuild a little "Message in a bottle". Use a super strong clear plastic bottle, with a note and a survey for the finder to fill out and send back. And put one of those $3 blinkie jogger's safety lights in it.
Extra credit: figure out how to supply the blinkie light with the same voltage but with larger batteries! (Longer runtime)
Extra Extra credit: Find a way to keep the blinkie hidden for a while, to let it get farther before being found! One idea; wrap it in grocery bag paper and masking tape, which will get soggy in a day or two and dissolve away. Or brown paper and natural twine, even more eco-friendly!
(The blinkie and batteries sound not very eco-friendly, but they are there to make sure your little submarine drone DOES get found)
Okay, REALLY cool idea!! Have you ever done this?? :)
DeleteDevil's Kettle is also pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteWe were JUST reading about this recently... something about ping pong balls disappearing...
