We did it... we actually hit the road today! After talking about doing RoadSchool for the last year and a half, getting sidelined with life, and finding the blessings in a calendar free of commitments, we are excitedly/anxiously heading out of the fine state of Minnesota!
We knew this moment was coming, but it still hit pretty hard... Eric isn't coming with us. Oh, he'll meet up with us as he can, but someone's gotta hold down a full time job. And I am so thankful for a man that prayerfully sent us out on this adventure.... it is such a gift to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. All of us are already looking forward to hugging him again. :)
So where to?? Well, Eric uttered today's title quote (Young Guns, anybody??), and we headed west to NoDak! There were tears for a bit, and I laughed out loud when I patted Taylor on the shoulder, told her I knew this was a step out of our comfort zone, and she replied, "This is a hop, skip, and a JUMP out of our comfort zone!"
Six hours of driving brought us to Grahams Island State Park, where we welcomed the sun finally shining on us as we started over to the island. The sites are wonderful pull-thrus (Yay!!), and all hands on deck got us set up and dinner made as the sun was setting. Down to 34° tonight, but we've got plenty of blankets... Joe has his dog bed, and the trailer furnace is working... the adventure continues!

ND rest stop... we see blue skies!
Lily got the biggest kick out of this road that brought us out to the island... so refreshing to hear her excitement. :)
Kate is ready and waiting to slide that Anderson Level piece in place when I say "Go!" These things are AMAZING to get our trailer level in about a minute!
A slight hiccup with the hitch caused us to be behind on dinner... Lily griddled us up some grilled cheese to go with our tomato soup. She even cleaned the griddle.
Warming up!
I think it's safe to say we're toasty.
Even our Georgia dog seems comfy now.
Settled in, ready for bed, and looking forward to what tomorrow brings!
I didn't know North Dakota had an island!?
